WarBison™ 3/8″ AR500 Gong – Bison Steel Shooting Target (18″ × 12″)
The WarBison™ 3/8″ AR500 Gong is a heavy-duty, laser-cut steel shooting target built for serious rifle and handgun training. Cut from genuine AR500 ballistic steel, this bison-shaped gong delivers loud, satisfying impact feedback while maintaining exceptional durability under repeated fire.
Designed for intermediate and full-power rifle use, 3/8″ AR500 steel targets perform best with the following calibers: .223, 5.56, 5.45×39, 7.62×39, and .308.
For velocities exceeding 3000 FPS muzzle velocity, a minimum distance of 200 yards is required. Handguns should be used no closer than 10 yards, and rifles no closer than 100 yards.
All WarBison™ 3/8″ AR500 Gongs are backed by a limited lifetime guarantee against breakage when used properly.
⚠️ Important Ammunition Warning:
Steel-core or penetrator ammunition, including 5.56 M193 and M855, must never be used on steel targets. Use of steel ammunition will void all warranties.
The WarBison™ features two reinforced 1/2″ mounting holes with thick, impact-resistant ears designed to absorb hits without cracking or failure. For maximum stability, hang from both mounting holes, though single-hole mounting is also supported. All targets are shipped raw and unfinished, allowing users to paint or coat as desired.

Precision Laser Cutting Advantage
Every WarBison™ AR500 target is cut using a fiber laser cutting table for superior accuracy and edge integrity. Unlike plasma cutting—which introduces excessive heat, creates a large heat-affected zone (HAZ), softens edges, and increases the risk of chipping or shattering—laser cutting produces clean, precise edges without compromising the steel’s hardness. This results in longer service life, improved safety, and a professional-grade finish.
