  • How should I care for my body armor to maintain its effectiveness?
Proper care and maintenance are essential for ensuring your body armor remains effective throughout its service life: Storage: Store armor flat or hanging in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid folding or creasing ballistic panels. Cleaning: Follow manufacturer's instructions carefully. Generally, soft armor carriers can be gently hand washed with mild soap and air-dried, but ballistic panels should never be submerged in water or dry cleaned. Inspection: Regularly check your armor for signs of damage, wear, or exposure to moisture. Pay special attention to stitching, closures, and any visible ballistic material. Avoid: Never expose armor to bleach, harsh chemicals, excessive heat, or prolonged moisture. Don't store heavy objects on top of your armor. Each product comes with specific care instructions. Following these guidelines will help ensure your armor provides the protection you need when it matters most.

It's flexible, lightweight, and designed to stop handgun rounds up to NIJ Level IIIA (which includes most common handgun threats). Hard armor plates are rigid panels typically made from ceramics, polyethylene, or steel. They're designed to stop rifle rounds and higher-velocity threats. Level III plates stop most rifle rounds, while Level IV can stop armor-piercing rifle ammunition. Many of our customers choose a combination of both: soft armor for everyday comfort and concealability, with the option to add hard plates for higher-threat situations.
