The War Shield 3+ 4.5” x 6” Curved Spall Coat Armor Plate is a stand alone armor plate with multiple hit capability.
BALLISTIC PERFORMANCE
Passed NIJ 0101.06 6 shot stand alone tests against:
• 5.56 M855 M80 Ball (Green Tip) at 2800 FPS
• 5.56 M193 55 Grain FMJ at 2900 FPS
In-house testing defeated 30-06 165 grain copper tip Trophy.
SPALL COAT PROTECTION
The Spall Coat provides an additional protective exterior layer designed to help contain and reduce fragmentation and spall generated during ballistic impacts.
The coating surrounds the steel armor plate, helping capture fragments that can result when a projectile strikes the hardened steel surface. It also provides an additional durable exterior layer over the steel core.

Our new proprietary steel core is far stronger than the AR500–AR650 steel core. This core is hardened all the way through unlike the AR500–AR650 which is only surfaced hardened.
At only 0.197 inches thick nominal makes it 20% lighter than the AR500 and superior in strength.
